Job Description:

Event Planners & Catering Staff is a leading provider of professional event planning and catering services, seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Event Chef to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented and dedicated individual to oversee the culinary aspects of our events. As a Catering Event Chef, you will be responsible for training, managing, and supervising kitchen personnel to ensure the highest quality food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate, plan, and direct food preparation and kitchen activities while maintaining quality, health, safety, and budgetary standards.
  • Create or modify menus to meet the needs of our clients and events.
  • Arrange for proper equipment purchases or rentals to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Oversee and direct kitchen setup and breakdown, ensuring timely and smooth execution of events.
  • Prepare and sell food within specific event time frames, maintaining exceptional presentation and service standards.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of prior experience in a professional kitchen, with a focus on high-end food and catering production.
  • Reliability and responsibility, with the ability to supervise and direct kitchen personnel.
  • Exceptional knife skills and cooking abilities, with a passion for delivering high-quality cuisine.
  • Great attitude and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, with the ability to excel in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Able to stand for most of the workday and lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Part-time, on-call position for upscale catered and non-catered events, with mostly weekend and evening hours.
  • Culinary degree not required, but a plus; Serve Safe certification also a plus.
  • May be responsible for helping kitchen staff to load, drive, and unload a van/truck.
