Job Summary

As a Master Electrician at Adient, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining complex electrical systems, including PLCs, I/O devices, and instrumentation. Your expertise will be essential in identifying and resolving issues that impact production and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, including PLC-related problems and data handling functions.
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation of PLC programs and machine controls drawings, both electronically and in paper format.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and improvements on automated equipment, including devices, I/O, instruments, and other components associated with automated processes.
  • Support various I/O devices connected to PLCs, including HMI's, scanners, remote I/O, sensors, relays, solenoids, servo drives, and assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting pneumatic circuits.
  • Contribute to plant reliability maintenance by improving equipment uptime and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Schedule and complete backups of all electronic machine control and robotic programs on a regular schedule and develop and maintain Preventive Maintenance Programs.
  • Diagnose problems with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems interfacing with electrical and electronic systems.
  • Apply knowledge of electronic and instrumentation principles to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment to operation.
  • Implement and maintain data collection systems from plant floor processing equipment, identify errorproofing requirements throughout the production process, and participate in multidisciplinary plant teams to determine continuous improvement strategies.
  • Identify and plan for process impacts as a result of engineering and launch changes, and participate in 8D or similar root cause-based problem-solving tasks to ensure abnormalities are acted upon to resolve root causes.
  • Contribute to specifications for equipment purchases, including review and commentary on equipment controls drawings prior to build approval.
