Key Responsibilities- Government Mandated Tax Filings: Responsible for preparing and submitting government mandated tax filings for Highmark Health and subsidiaries, both wholly and jointly owned.
- Tax Provision: Responsible for the timely completion of tax provisions in accordance with both internal and external deadlines, including current calculations, deferred calculation roll forwards, effective tax rate reconciliations, tax account roll forwards, and uncertain tax positions.
- Tax Research and Planning: Perform tax research and planning for Highmark Health and subsidiaries, both wholly and jointly owned, to identify tax issues and opportunities.
- Communication and Collaboration: Provide tax guidance and support to business units, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Experience: 7 years of experience in tax accounting, tax compliance, and tax planning, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in tax software and systems.
- Master's Degree: Master's Degree in Business Administration or Taxation.
- CPA or Attorney: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or licensed attorney.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the insurance industry, with knowledge of statutory accounting principles (SAP) and tax laws.
Highmark Health offers a competitive salary range of $78,900.00 to $146,000.00, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
