The manager will also engage in various accounting functions such as posting journal entries and executing balance sheet reconciliations, while ensuring that goals and objectives are met accurately and promptly. Regular communication with supervisors regarding issues and opportunities is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Close & Reporting - Daily Oversight

  • Calculates and records monthly gross revenue, discounts, and material costs.
  • Reviews and reconciles inventory transactions, including shipments, receipts, damages, cycle counts, and other adjustments.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and reports on monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation, including the monthly quantity on hand and obsolete inventory reserve calculations.
  • Reconciles intercompany inventory transactions.
  • Records and monitors various sales incentives.
  • Assists with monthly bank reporting related to inventory.
  • Maintains the item master.
  • Participates in month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepares various journal entries on a monthly basis.
  • Assists in the review and analysis of financial statements.
  • Analyzes and reconciles monthly balance sheets in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Undertakes other projects as assigned by the Controller.
  • Supports the year-end financial audit and various bank and 401(k) audits.
  • Responds to inquiries from the Controller by providing analysis and ad-hoc reporting as requested.
Commission Management
  • Ensures timely and accurate commission payments.
  • Conducts thorough audits of commission calculations.
  • Communicates task lists and timelines with all business partners.
  • Oversees all system changes, promotions, and incentives affecting commissions.
  • Manages 1099 and T4A processing for sales consultants.
Financial Close & Reporting - Month-End and Year-End
  • Reviews journal entries.
  • Reviews balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Reviews monthly forecasts to identify potential concerns.
  • Ensures departmental responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.
Team Leadership
  • Acts as a coach and mentor to the team, identifying opportunities for skill development and performance enhancement.
  • Demonstrates team-building skills and leads by example.
  • Provides daily direction to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and team morale.
  • Evaluates performance and provides guidance for improvement, recommending rewards as appropriate.
  • Schedules work and initiates disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and communicates regularly to uphold standards.
  • Ensures adherence to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assists in system implementations.
  • Participates in special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • Familiarity with GAAP.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
