Front Desk Clerk Job Description

At Hospitality Jobs Hotspot, we're seeking a skilled and courteous Front Desk Clerk to provide exceptional guest experiences. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring seamless check-ins and check-outs, maintaining a thorough knowledge of our hotel and its offerings, and delivering top-notch customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Services: Promptly and effectively handle guest complaints and requests, ensuring a positive experience for all.
  • Front Desk Operations: Post guest charges, compute guest bills, collect payment, and make change, following all cash handling procedures.
  • Knowledge and Communication: Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, room rates, amenities, and selling strategies, and communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Reservations and Switchboard: Take reservation requests efficiently, answer switchboard calls in accordance with standards of proper telephone etiquette, and block rooms and handle special requests.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: Monitor room availability, keep the lobby and desk area clean and presentable, and have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures.
  • Additional Duties: Offer and properly handle requests for wake-up calls, know how to clean guest rooms to standards, open and close shifts, make cash drops, and ensure all credit cards, cash, and change funds are balanced throughout each shift.
