About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to join our team at Wellpath. As a Medical Director, you will be responsible for providing medical oversight and guidance to our healthcare team, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical oversight to our medical program, adhering to existing policies and procedures for admission, transfer, and referrals.
  • Supervise the care given by other personnel and provide consultation for all professionals in the system.
  • Partner with our Health Services Administrator to identify problems and recommend solutions to improve patient outcomes, including establishing and maintaining Chronic Care Clinics.
  • Ensure proper documentation and adherence to the established formulary for therapeutic regimens, as well as providing emergency treatment on-site and responding appropriately in urgent or emergency situations.
  • Serve as a liaison with healthcare providers in the community, consult with medical specialists, and review and approve treatment protocols, clinical policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Medical school graduate.
  • Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Public Health preferred.
  • Must have and maintain current licensure within the State of employment.
  • Maintains a current DEA number.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
  • Must maintain privileges. Maintains CME requirements for continued medical practice in the State.
