Certified Snowboard Instructor

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Snowboard Instructor to join our team at Grand Targhee Resort. As a key member of our Ski & Snowboard School, you will be responsible for teaching adult and children's lessons, promoting our resort programs, and providing exceptional guest service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach snowboard lessons to adults and children, adhering to established teaching standards and methods.
• Actively promote Ski & Snowboard School and resort programs, fostering positive guest relations at all times.
• Participate in ongoing resort and Ski & Snowboard School training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Attend department communication meetings to stay informed and contribute to team discussions.
• Adhere to all rules, regulations, and policies outlined in the Ski & Snowboard School Manual and Employee Handbook.
• Be flexible with working hours, as some job sharing may be required.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the success of our Ski & Snowboard School.

Responsibilities to Safety

• Protect the safety of yourself, colleagues, and Grand Targhee Resort guests at all times.
• Report any potentially hazardous equipment or situations to your immediate supervisor without delay.
• Notify your supervisor of any safety-related accidents or incidents.
• Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort's Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
• Operate equipment safely to prevent injury to yourself or others.
• Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.

Requirements

• Must clearly demonstrate all skills and behaviors required to provide exemplary guest service.
• Less than high school education, or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year full-time experience at Grand Targhee or another PSIA school with a positive endorsement from that school.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Level 1 PSIA

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
