Job Overview

Pasta Ramen is seeking a skilled Station Cook to join our dynamic team in Montclair, New Jersey. As a Station Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing meal ingredients, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare meal ingredients as directed by the head chef or senior staff.
  • Prepare fresh produce by peeling, cutting, and portioning.
  • Prepare meat by trimming, cutting, and portioning.
  • Prepare simple dishes such as breads or salads.
  • Mix or prepare condiments, dressings, and sauces.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling, and hygiene codes and standards.
  • Assist with unloading, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
  • Basic understanding of or the ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.
  • Basic understanding of or the ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well in teams.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen.
  • Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work late nights and unpredictable hours.
  • Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks.
