Job Title: Head of Loan Origination and Servicing

Job Summary:

This position is an on-site position with work from home flexibility.

Summary:

The Head of Loan Origination and Servicing oversees the bank's loan production activities to ensure efficient processing, timely communications, and process quality consistent with policies and procedures. This includes oversight and servicing of the bank's loan portfolio as well.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the bank's portfolio management and loan production team.
  • Responsible for supporting operations staff by setting goals and objectives related to loan processing, closing, and servicing that are in line with the bank's strategic plan.
  • Manage the loan pipelines to ensure timely and compliant flow of loan files.
  • Manage loan document preparation process with attorneys and/or vendors, working directly with other staff to ensure efficient workflows, and maintaining knowledge of current software systems.
  • Supports audits, exams and other assessments.
  • Ensure all government guaranteed loan reporting and documentation is compliant with the respective agency.
  • Responsible for successful implementation of new systems and adoption amongst employees.
  • Adapts to concepts and procedures, identifies ongoing training needs on process, products, or servicing issues, and executes on those needs.
  • Takes the initiative to follow-up, escalate, or seek additional resources to ensure customer satisfaction and institutional success.
  • Lead and manage the Loan Production team, fostering a culture of accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development to team members.
  • Knowledge in both commercial and consumer loans with the ability to cross train staff in all areas.
  • Escalates issues immediately and takes necessary steps to prevent and/or minimize loss to the bank.
  • Adheres to all Bank policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines.
  • Ability to identify, develop and implement procedural and policy changes as needed.
  • Collaborate with credit, lending and compliance teams to ensure cohesive and effective loan operations.
  • Drive excellent customer service via means of supporting the staff to ensure any customer inquiries/concerns are promptly addressed.
  • Any activities necessary to support the bank's loan portfolio through means of servicing.
  • Carries out responsibilities with professionalism, respect for others, in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 7 or more years in banking
  • 5 or more years demonstrated experience leading a commercial and/or consumer loan production team
  • Strong understanding of loan operations processes, loan documentation and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Government Guaranteed Lending Experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word
