The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Radiologist to join our team at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting general radiology examinations, performing and interpreting diagnostic fluoroscopic studies, and interpreting CT and MRI examinations.

The successful candidate will work in a Veteran-centered, dynamic, team-oriented, and collaborative environment, rotating between campuses and meeting VHA defined benchmarks for physician productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret general radiology examinations, including plain film, CT, and MRI
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic fluoroscopic studies
  • Rotate between campuses, working in a Veteran-centered environment
  • Meet VHA defined benchmarks for physician productivity
  • Participate in the development of new protocols and imaging techniques
  • Communicate critical findings according to medical center policy
  • Participate in quality management activities, including film quality review and peer review
  • Prepare for and participate in various inspections
  • Review exam requests for appropriateness
  • Prescribe exam protocols and modify as needed for specific clinical indications
  • Consult with providers on various aspects of radiology
  • Participate in multidisciplinary and interdepartmental conferences
  • Teach students and residents
  • Provide clinical oversight of medication administration
  • Provide technical image quality feedback to technologists
  • Utilize abnormal diagnostic codes appropriately
  • Communicate and document verbal notification of results when required
  • Participate in research programs

Work Schedule:

Full-time, onsite position with variable work schedule

Travel Required:

Travel between Manhattan and Brooklyn VA Campuses daily
