POSITION SUMMARY
The LPN collaborates with residents and healthcare professionals to foster a secure and nurturing therapeutic atmosphere by delivering both direct and indirect patient care.
3 East, a specialized 31-bed unit dedicated to residents with Alzheimer's and dementia, focusing on personalized care to address their unique needs.
Essential elements of this unit involve employing both verbal and non-verbal communication strategies, recognizing the challenging behaviors that may arise in residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia, and understanding that these behaviors can serve as meaningful forms of communication.
This unit is designed to provide essential care for residents requiring long-term placement in a homelike setting.The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit, located on the second floor,
features a 42-bed capacity, offering short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for patients recuperating from fractures, joint replacements, back surgeries, strokes, and other temporary health conditions where a rehabilitative approach is advantageous.
Nursing responsibilities often encompass IV therapy, wound management, and geriatric assessment and care.3 West is a 42-bed long-term care unit, providing necessary support for residents needing extended placement in a comfortable environment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Educational Background:
Associate's Degree in Nursing or completion of a Maine State Board approved LPN program
Must possess a valid Licensed Practical Nurse license from the State of Maine or a compact license
Experience:
1-3 years of prior RN/LPN experience is preferred
Essential Skills:
Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred
Strong teamwork and communication abilities are essential.
Capability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary care team
Flexibility to cover shifts 24/7 as needed
Willingness to float to different units as required
An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates proficiency in the responsibilities outlined above may be considered.
