Job Summary:

The Pre-Admission Surgical Services (PASS) Provider is a vital member of the Surgical Services team, responsible for coordinating the preoperative assessment and evaluation of surgical patients. This role requires collaboration with other healthcare professionals, families, and patients to integrate patient care across the continuum of healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perioperative Assessment: Ensure safe and effective peri-operative assessment and care of surgical patients in partnership with anesthesia providers.
  • History and Physical: Conduct a thorough history and physical, order labs, EKG, and x-rays as necessary, and make referrals for further evaluation when required.
  • Findings and Evaluation: Effectively identify and evaluate findings, while complying with anesthesia evaluation protocols and guidelines.
  • Surgical Patient Assessment: Assess surgical patients for medical and anesthesia clearance, enhance and improve quality of care through the pre-surgical screening of surgical patients, and increase efficiencies for day of surgery along with improved patient satisfaction.
