Production Supervisor

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in space exploration. As a Production Supervisor, you'll play a critical role in helping us achieve our ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee shop floor activities, ensuring efficient workflow and daily schedules are met.
  • Resolve nonconformance issues, documenting rework and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead and manage a team of technicians, handling performance management and development.
  • Review work instructions, recommending changes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Assess and develop the necessary skillset for stage integration, identifying training needs and creating programs.
  • Provide critical data and reporting to support departmental metrics and improvement objectives.
  • Monitor labor hours and overtime, implementing improvement plans and time management strategies with staff.
  • Drive production results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction processes and efficiency improvement measures.
  • Foster a spirit of cooperation within and between shifts and departments.
  • Identify and mitigate production risks, ensuring product quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain tooling and consumable supply inventory, improving area safety and efficiency through regular auditing and continuous improvement.
  • Continuously improve process and manpower efficiency, utilization, and productivity.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • 1+ years of experience leading a team or project.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in structures manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or STEM discipline.
  • Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with engineering and production teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work assignments and fast-paced work environments.
  • Lean manufacturing training and experience.
  • Experience monitoring, tracking, and improving the total cost equation.
  • Experience applying lean manufacturing principles and efficiency methods.
  • Demonstrated record of high-performance (rated 4/4 or above in previous review cycles).
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift (~Monday - Friday 3:00PM - 2:00AM).
  • Open to working extended hours and weekends.
  • Ability to travel short and/or extended trips as needed (up to 10%).
Compensation and Benefits:

Pay range: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks.

You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Exempt employees are eligible for 5 days of sick leave per year.
