Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient nutritional assessments and evaluations in clinic, school, and community settings
  • Develop and monitor nutritional care plans and food packages
  • Certify clients for participation in public health programs
  • Provide basic and secondary/high risk nutrition education
  • Make referrals to programs such as Medicaid, AFDC, and SNAP benefits

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of nutrition and dietetics principles and practices
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with patients and staff members individually and in group settings
  • Ability to respond to public inquiry regarding the WIC program

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian certification
  • Prior public health experience and/or experience with WIC program
