Job Summary

The TYLin Water Sector is seeking a Senior Water Engineer to lead the delivery of water and wastewater engineering services to clients in NY State and the NE region. Key responsibilities include business development, water and wastewater infrastructure planning and design, studies and modeling, and technical report preparation.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients to understand their needs and ensure their expectations are met.
  • Mentor staff, provide career guidance, and support staff development while adhering to TYLin's core values.
  • Provide technical excellence in planning studies, preliminary designs, final designs, asset management, program management, bid assistance, and office services during construction for water and wastewater infrastructure and facilities.
  • Manage multiple technical tasks simultaneously to lead teams to complete assignments to the client's satisfaction while following contract requirements and maintaining budget and schedule.
  • Manage staff assignments and workload to increase efficiency, helping staff achieve their career objectives.
  • Identify and lead business development pursuits, including positioning and preparation of proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering - Master's degree is desirable.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering consulting; civil/sanitary studies and design with water/wastewater conveyance and treatment focus; and business development.
  • NY State PE licensure is required; PA, DE, CT, or NJ licensure a plus.
  • Demonstrated project delivery experience, including managing client expectations, technical teams, and project finances.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Technical and entrepreneurial competencies with a desire to expand client relationships and establish new ones.
  • Commitment to exceeding client expectations and implementing the best solutions to meet their needs.
