We are seeking a skilled Battery Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for operating the battery room, performing sweeper scrubber duties, and assisting skilled maintenance personnel with repairs.
Key Responsibilities- Operate the Battery Room: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the battery room, including performing sweeper scrubber duties.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on distribution center material handling equipment batteries and chargers.
- Assist Skilled Maintenance Personnel: Collaborate with experienced technicians to repair and maintain equipment in a safe and professional manner.
- Troubleshoot Equipment Issues: Identify and resolve basic problems with equipment where the repair is visible or obvious.
- Maintain a Safe Working Environment: Ensure a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe working environment for the maintenance department.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent, trade school preferred.
- Experience: 1 year of experience repairing/maintaining mechanical or electrical equipment in an industrial or non-industrial setting, or 2 years related vocational training.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools operation, basic knowledge and operation of Multi-meter tool, and ability to understand maintenance manuals and electrical equipment blueprints.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with industrial electrical systems and motor controls.
- Work Schedule: Willingness to work shift work, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
