Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver basic life support to patients at emergency scenes and during transport, adhering to all applicable laws and protocols.
  2. Operate emergency vehicles safely while responding to both emergency and non-emergency calls as directed.
  3. Engage in continuous education to stay updated with emergency medical service practices.
  4. Assist in the rescue and extraction of individuals in distress using appropriate medical and rescue techniques.
  5. Communicate effectively with medical personnel and facilities to coordinate patient care and treatment.
  6. Respond promptly and professionally to emergency calls, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  7. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to ensure readiness for emergency response.
  8. Document incidents and equipment issues accurately and report them to supervisors.
  9. Follow safety protocols regarding contamination and patient care.
  10. Participate in required meetings and maintain confidentiality of all patient and operational matters.
  11. Perform general maintenance tasks at the station as assigned.
  12. Exhibit professionalism and adhere to the organization's values in all interactions.
  13. Document all service reports in compliance with local and state regulations.
  14. Maintain and restock medical equipment and supplies as necessary.
  15. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and assist in training new staff.
  16. Participate in ongoing education and skill enhancement programs.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Completion of EMT-B training and certification in the relevant state.
  3. Maintain continuing education requirements for certification.
  4. Possess Emergency Vehicle Operator certification.
  5. Must be at least 23 years old to operate emergency vehicles.
  6. Valid state driver's license required.
  7. Participate in a minimum of six educational programs annually.
  8. Complete annual skills assessments as per company guidelines.
  9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  10. Ability to assess situations and implement problem-solving strategies.
