We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team at Medix. As a key member of our Retina specialty practice, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and advancing your career in ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate patient evaluations and accurately document chief complaints, histories, and ocular findings in compliance with guidelines.
  • Perform pre-exam testing, including visual acuity assessments, tonometry, and pupillary dilation.
  • Set up for procedures, including intravitreal injections, and document essential information in the EHR.
  • Clean surgical instruments and conduct inventory of supplies as directed.
  • Assist with maintenance of clinical exam equipment and order supplies as needed.
  • Open and close exam and injection rooms, and assist with photography if trained.
Schedule and Shift:

M-F 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch break. Start times between 7:50 AM with flexibility required for emergency patients and surgeries.

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as an ophthalmic technician is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
