Instrumentation and Controls Specialist

At IGS Energy Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Controls Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of activities associated with the safe and efficient construction and continued operation of our Biogas facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair minor control system problems, including control wiring and electrical control devices.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of existing PLC and HMI programs and work with the team to solve technical challenges.
- Communicate, request, and apply Lock-Out-Tag-Out to equipment for repair and maintenance.
- Assist in developing solutions related to construction and operation challenges on site.
- Learn new skills and abilities, methods, and techniques to support the overall operation of Biogas facilities.
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
- Perform other tasks in support of IGS Energy Inc business as needed.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
The position requires standing for extended periods, stair and ladder climbing, and lifting heavy items. Protective equipment must be worn during some duties, such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, gas monitors, etc.
Work Schedule:
This position offers a regular scheduled Monday to Friday work week with an 8-hour day shift. Extended working hours, varied shifts, weekend, and holiday work may be required based on schedules, workload, and plant conditions. On-call status will periodically be required.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in a related field, such as electronics, electrical engineering technology, or related experience.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical equipment maintenance on compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation.
- 2+ years of experience in the electrical trades with a focus on low voltage instrumentation, SCADA systems, PLCs, and HMIs.
- Strong understanding of 24VDC - 480VAC systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Valid driver's license.
