POSITION SUMMARY:
DICK'S Sporting Goods is in search of a dedicated Regional Operations Leader to oversee operations in the Rhode Island area.
The Regional Operations Leader is a multi-store manager who effectively communicates and drives the company's vision and objectives across various locations. This role is pivotal in enhancing district sales and financial performance while identifying growth opportunities through thorough analysis. A strong passion for athletes, brand integrity, and the professional development of team members is essential. The Regional Operations Leader collaborates with a high-performing team to ensure stores excel in operational standards, prioritize athletes, and value team members. This position serves as a crucial business partner for both field operations and corporate, demonstrating the qualities of an adaptive leader, skilled communicator, and promoter of a growth-oriented mindset among all team levels.
- Enhances profitable sales and business outcomes by achieving or surpassing set objectives in sales, store contributions, KPIs, expenses, and overall profit and loss metrics. Evaluates data and business trends comprehensively.
- Conducts regular assessments of store metrics related to athlete satisfaction, team experience, and overall store performance across the district.
- Stays informed about competitors and possesses a deep understanding of industry and market trends, as well as the communities served.
- Implements strategies that empower store teams to focus on fostering engagement and loyalty within each community.
- Supports Store Managers in recognizing and aligning on sales strategies tailored to individual store and market needs.
- Collaborates with Store Managers to ensure effective planning and organization for the upcoming 30, 60, and 90 days, addressing any obstacles that arise.
- Builds a robust, high-performing team by recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent, ensuring a diverse mix of backgrounds and perspectives.
- Ensures that managers receive proper onboarding, training, and development, while providing constructive feedback, recognition, coaching, and growth opportunities.
- Implements strategic succession plans to cultivate future leaders, including District Managers, Store Managers, and Assistant Managers.
- Maintains high standards for self and others by establishing clear expectations and direction.
- Oversees the consistent execution of company merchandising and presentation standards across all stores in the district.
- Validates that the athlete experience is consistently met throughout the district.
- Fosters strong relationships with business partners, both in the field and at the corporate level.
- Manages the district team with a people-first approach, building trust, actively listening, and dedicating time to team members. Drives the vision, sets direction, and ensures transparent communication with all team levels.
- Leads through coaching and development, integrating learning into daily operations through hands-on coaching and constructive feedback.
- Creates opportunities for store leaders to analyze data, identify challenges, and develop solutions.
- Fosters an inclusive store environment where all individuals (team members and athletes) feel safe, welcomed, and encouraged to contribute their best.
- Collaborates with Store Managers to explore community partnership opportunities, engaging with local leaders.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5-7 years of experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a District Manager role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
