Position Overview

For over two decades, Northern Impact has been at the forefront of architectural and interior design, providing innovative integrated design solutions. With a presence across the West Coast and New Jersey, our firm has crafted dynamic office environments for renowned clients. We are currently in search of a Project Architect with expertise in OSHPD to contribute to our corporate interiors and tenant improvement projects within the healthcare sector.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with clients and internal project teams to produce comprehensive project documentation, including construction drawings, equipment schedules, and specifications. The Project Architect will play a pivotal role in all phases of design and project execution.

Key Duties

  • Prepare and verify the accuracy of technical documents.
  • Provide strategic guidance on project objectives, critical issues, and innovative concepts.
  • Estimate project hours and scope, preparing work authorizations for Project Manager review.
  • Review and ensure compliance with code and city requirements, coordinating with the Project Manager and Designer.
  • Possess a solid understanding of existing and ADA codes.
  • Navigate the city plan check process effectively.
  • Utilize advanced architectural principles and techniques to deliver finished plans and specifications.
  • Conduct space planning for areas up to 3,000 SF in client-facing scenarios.
  • Engage in construction administration, ensuring quality control throughout project assignments.
  • Independently apply architectural and design methodologies.
  • Demonstrate specific knowledge of OSHPD regulations.

Communication & Collaboration

Effectively communicate with General Contractors and Subcontractors regarding field discrepancies, working with the Project Manager to devise successful solutions. Maintain strong, positive relationships with clients and proactively collaborate with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to achieve project goals.

Process Development & Coordination

Coordinate project teams to finalize plans, specifications, and material selections necessary for construction. Collaborate with various disciplines and consultants to ensure project objectives are met. Conduct thorough research and documentation for plan check corrections with relevant city agencies.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate interiors.
  • At least 2 years of OSHPD experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, and SketchUp; knowledge of 3DMax is advantageous.
