About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Construction Materials Testing Specialist to join our team at Intertek. As a key member of our Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain and calibrate testing equipment and conduct soil and/or concrete testing and provide an assessment of data through reporting
  • Utilize drawings, specifications and diagrams to ensure accurate testing and reporting
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications to identify testing requirements
  • Use specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks and complex assignments
  • Make detailed observations, give interpretation of results, maintain detailed documentation and data from test results
  • Communicate effectively with client and project teams and attend project meetings
Requirements
  • 2 years' experience as a field technician in construction materials testing and/or construction industry is required
  • ACI and/or ATTI certifications
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required
  • Ability to work off shifts and overtime
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
  • Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
