Position Overview:

The Construction Planning Specialist is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) networks that deliver voice, video, and data services to both residential and commercial clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts field assessments for proposed projects, ensuring that alternative routing options provide the most economical construction designs.
  • Oversees all customer implementation processes, including site evaluations, node placements, and subcontractor management.
  • Coordinates contractor activities, secures necessary permits, and distributes design documents to facilitate project execution.
  • Negotiates and approves modifications to design or construction plans as needed.
  • Researches and analyzes project plans, compiles essential data, and determines material requirements.
  • Collaborates with public works personnel, developers, and utility companies on joint trench initiatives.
  • Maintains project workflow databases and updates schedules to reflect current progress.
  • Participates in estimating costs, managing budgets, and tracking expenses related to construction projects.
  • Verifies serviceability, surveys proposed service routes, and estimates costs for materials, construction, and labor.
  • Initiates customer interactions, secures access agreements, and finalizes route designs to meet client requirements.
  • May order materials, verify invoices, and coordinate with administrative staff.
  • May inspect construction work or assign inspection tasks as necessary.
  • Finalizes project tasks in databases, reconciles assets, and generates reports to ensure proper project closure.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.

Experience: 0-2 years in a related field.


Role Characteristics:

This is an entry-level support position requiring basic skills and the ability to perform fundamental tasks within the function. The role involves routine work with guidance from supervisors for non-standard issues.


Autonomy:
