Market HR Business Partner

Overview:
As a Market Human Resources Business Partner at Sun Auto Corporate, you will play a critical role in supporting the HR needs of our assigned markets. This includes ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, supporting employee engagement initiatives, following up on employee relations issues, and providing guidance to local leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and track compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Build relationships and consult with senior-level and store operational staff to ensure that human resources functions are supporting business goals.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
- Visit assigned locations frequently to assess people-related functions and complete monthly or bi-monthly audits.
- Assess background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, performance management discussions, and terminations as needed.
- Conduct and participate in internal investigations with guidance from the Director of Human Resources.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, including federal and state regulations and laws.
- Ability to research changes to federal and state employment-related laws and regulations and suggest appropriate changes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of human resources experience, including experience supporting multiple locations, preferably in a large retail organization.
- SHRM-CP or PHR a plus.
