Position Overview

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing essential laboratory tests and analyses related to wastewater management, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards set by environmental authorities. A Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, biology, or a related environmental field is highly desirable. Alternatively, candidates with an Associate's Degree in these disciplines and a minimum of three years of relevant experience in wastewater treatment or analytical laboratories may be considered.

This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Executing chemical and microbiological assessments in accordance with established protocols,
  • Utilizing, calibrating, and maintaining various laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers, dissolved oxygen meters, pH meters, and wastewater sampling devices,
  • Responding to emergency situations to collect necessary samples during adverse weather conditions.

Applicants must possess a valid driving record and meet the criteria for vehicle insurance coverage. The position also requires the ability to navigate ladders and stairs, traverse the facility in diverse weather conditions, and demonstrate adequate visual and auditory skills to communicate effectively and respond to alerts.
