Pharmacy Technician Job Summary

Carle Foundation Hospital is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to patients, perform technical tasks, and maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately prepare and label chemotherapy drugs for administration
  • Fulfill and deliver Omnicell restock lists
  • Assist in developing and maintaining training materials
  • Enter and process new prescriptions and refills
  • Perform miscellaneous billing functions
  • Perform miscellaneous non-sterile compounding
  • Prepare IV products using aseptic technique and proper labeling
  • Prepare parenteral nutrition solutions and provide pertinent laboratory information to the pharmacist
  • Prepare various batch IV products to support patient care needs
  • Deliver enteral nutritional supplements to patient care areas and maintain enteral records and billing functions
Requirements:
  • Pharmacy Technician License in Illinois
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) or Certified Pharmacy Technician (NHA)
  • Ability to work accurately and safely in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
