Key Responsibilities:
- Civil design, landfill design, and site layout;
- Conduct geotechnical engineering analyses, including slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, and seepage;
- Perform geotechnical and environmental site characterization;
- Develop and oversee instrumentation monitoring systems;
- Manage small projects/tasks and assist in proposal preparation;
- Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications;
- Conduct fieldwork related to design and construction services.
Training Requirements:
This position mandates OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training, along with medical monitoring, all provided by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities, including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, to help our professionals enhance their technical and business skills.
Fieldwork and Travel:
Fieldwork may constitute up to 25% of the role, with overnight travel requirements of up to 30%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (required);
- Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (preferred);
- Professional registration (i.e., P.E.) (preferred);
- A minimum of 5 years (7+ preferred) of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required);
- Strong oral and technical writing skills (required);
- Familiarity with modeling/design tools such as AutoCAD, HydroCAD, ArcMap, SLIDE, FLAC, PLAXIS (preferred);
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred);
- Ability to travel to client facilities (required);
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
