Manufacturing Process Specialist
As a Manufacturing Process Specialist in R&D, you will be responsible for operating machinery to innovate and evaluate plastic containers and associated tooling. Our R&D facility is dedicated to advancing product development for leading consumer brands and is recognized for maintaining high safety standards.
Your Contributions
In this position, you will play a key role in upholding Plastipak's exceptional quality benchmarks and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Your Responsibilities
Monitor and adjust critical settings such as parison programming, thermal controls, cooling water temperatures, and the operation of extruder and hydraulic systems.
Conduct quality assurance assessments to ensure compliance with customer specifications regarding bottle weights and dimensions, including wall thickness and plastic distribution.
Make necessary adjustments to rectify defects and perform routine maintenance on machinery and auxiliary equipment as required.
Maintain comprehensive production and quality documentation.
Collaborate with your colleagues to identify opportunities for continuous improvement with a focus on safety, reliability, quality, and waste reduction.
Enhance your skills through formal training and hands-on experience, with pathways for career progression.
Qualifications
- Availability to work Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4 PM.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; an Associate's degree in Technology or related field is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with extrusion or blow molding machinery is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Proficient computer skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
