Job Title: Renewable Energy Paralegal

EDP Renewables is a global leader in the renewable energy sector, operating in over 25 markets. As a Renewable Energy Paralegal, you will assist legal counsel with matters related to the company's development, construction, operation, and maintenance of distributed solar generation projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform assigned substantive legal work
  • Prepare drafts of documents, including confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure agreements, construction services agreements, and other project-related agreements
  • Review and assist with the completion of agreements received from third parties
  • Coordinate with landowners and other parties for the execution of real estate documents
  • Review deeds, estate, trust, and corporate documents to verify title and identify issues
  • Assist with satisfying title requirements and coordinating with title companies
  • Review land surveys and site plans, and coordinate with engineering on needed revisions
  • Assist with contract compliance and preparing document summaries
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years in the corporate/finance area of a law firm or in-house legal services in a corporate environment
  • Real Estate experience strongly encouraged

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
