Kubernetes Tech Lead Job Description

Aquinas Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Kubernetes Tech Lead to join our team in Berkeley Heights, NJ. Our client is a leading Professional IT Services Firm specializing in proprietary machine learning, predictive analytics solutions, and automation to achieve business transformation for top companies worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on support for existing environments, including software installation, patch installation, upgrades, query writing, configuration, security, system monitoring, and tuning.
  • Manage and upgrade Amazon EKS clusters, implementing tools and automation for build, configuration management, continuous integration, deployment, and application monitoring.
  • Automate and evolve infrastructure, deployment strategies, and testing to support quick turnaround of deployments.
  • Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) responsible for provisioning, configuring, and scaling infrastructure in cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure all relevant KPIs are implemented within the monitoring framework.
  • Participate in Production Support activities during incidents and outages, resolving technical issues in lower and upper environments.
  • Contribute to capacity planning, tuning systems stability, provisioning, performance, and scaling of application infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience with AWS tech stack, including Elastic Kubernetes, ElastiCache, KMS, Networking, Compute, Database, and other services.
  • Working experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrate a desire to automate processes and participate in on-call rotation.
Desired Skills:
  • Containerization technologies: Docker or Podman.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools: AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps.
  • Linux system administration and bash scripting.
  • Networking: solid understanding of routing and networking concepts.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Web Servers: Nginx or Apache configurations and reverse proxies.
  • Collaboration platforms: JIRA, Confluence, Wiki, ServiceNow.
