Position Overview:
The Rutgers Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Associate role. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with Dr. Hao Wang at CAIT, engaging in independent research initiatives focused on sustainable and intelligent pavement systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct both theoretical and practical research in the field of sustainable pavements.
- Publish findings in reputable journals and present at conferences.
- Assist in crafting and writing research proposals aimed at securing external funding.

Qualifications:
Education:
Applicants must possess a PhD in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Essential Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in at least one of the following areas:
1) Advanced characterization and modeling of pavement materials, including mechanistic-empirical pavement analysis.
2) Life-cycle assessment methodologies for transportation infrastructure pavements.

The successful applicant is expected to be self-driven, capable of broad and conceptual thinking, and adept at devising innovative solutions to intricate challenges. The ability to prioritize tasks and work autonomously with minimal supervision is essential.

Communication Skills:
Strong communication and presentation abilities are required, alongside proficiency in technical writing and editing. The candidate should maintain high standards in the development and presentation of information. Furthermore, the role necessitates effective management, documentation, and organization of multiple concurrent projects.
