About the Job: We are seeking an exceptional Meat Associate Team Leader to join our team at Whole Foods Market - Port Chester. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for providing outstanding leadership and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.

Job Description:

  • Leadership and Development: You will be accountable for hiring, training, and developing a high-performing team, as well as making decisions regarding team member separations in partnership with store leadership.
  • Sales and Profitability: You will monitor and achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, and project annual sales and expenses to prepare operating budgets.
  • Inventory Management: You will manage ordering and inventory to achieve targeted contribution to profit margin.
  • Customer Service: You will ensure excellent customer service by directing team members to satisfy and delight customers, responding promptly to customer needs and questions.
  • Team Safety and Security: You will communicate and maintain team member safety and security standards.
  • Performance Evaluations: You will provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 24+ months of retail experience, including 12+ months of team leadership experience.
  • Skills: Advanced knowledge of products, buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management; food safety certification; certified meat journeyman or equivalent training; excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Lifting: Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Standing/Walking: Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
  • Hand Use: Single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Exposure: Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals, temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and ability to work in a wet and cold environment.

Benefits and Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary range of $20.05 - $27.53 hourly, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan benefits, eligibility for a store discount, paid time off, and access to other benefit programs. Eligibility for these benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable Whole Benefits plan.
