Job Summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Thrift Store Associate to join our team. As a Thrift Store Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring customers and donors have a positive experience visiting our store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and sort donated goods, ensuring they are accurately priced and displayed for sale.
  • Operate the cash register efficiently and accurately, providing excellent customer service.
  • Stock and maintain merchandise on the floor, ensuring a visually appealing and organized store environment.
  • Process donation drop-offs, assist donors with unloading donations, and issue receipts.
  • Perform light cleaning tasks throughout the store, maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.
  • Assist customers with loading purchases as requested.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service and/or retail experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills required and previous experience handling cash a plus.
  • Must pass background checks.
Competencies
  • Flexible interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and prioritize.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
  • Not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
