Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee self-checkout units and ensure complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service.
  • Assist customers with scanning, weighing, and paying for their items, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Serve multiple customers at once and anticipate any issues that may arise.
  • Answer questions and assist with issues related to large items, scanning, weighing, payment, and more.
  • Monitor scanning activity to ensure accuracy and invite customers to use self-checkout lanes when lines are forming in other lanes.
  • Maintain knowledge of weekly ad items, promotions, and events, and provide direction on product location throughout the store.
  • Ensure self-checkout areas are clean and orderly, and execute all other related duties as assigned.
  • Thank customers as they leave the self-checkout area.
Requirements
  • Be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience in retail, customer service, or sales is preferred, with 1-2 years of cashier experience.
  • Have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to operate front-end equipment, including registers, calculators, and scanners.
  • Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Have good physical stamina, with the ability to lift and carry product weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Be able to use both hands to move grocery carts, requiring a force up to 35 lbs.
  • Have strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers, as well as cash handling and mathematical skills.
