Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer to join our team at Tenneco. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and releasing components that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new components, including internal part design, reverse engineering of products, and designs developed through suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing engineering, quality, and customer support teams to ensure successful component release.
  • Manage new part programs, ensuring completion of assigned activities and applying a basic knowledge of engineering principles and established engineering procedures.
  • Establish and expand skills in reverse engineering aftermarket products, building a strong foundation in part design and validation processes.
  • Participate in Design Verification and Validation (DVP&R) completion tasks and prepare and complete sample approvals, testing requests, and evaluate test results.
  • Support engineering quality issue resolution, evaluate returned products for failure mode, and provide actionable feedback.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing facilities to ensure manufacturability of designs, participate in feasibility reviews, and assist in implementing new materials and designs.
Requirements
  • Manage new part programs at the individual component level, ensuring completion of assigned activity.
  • Apply a basic knowledge of engineering principles, established engineering procedures, and automotive engineering to complete assigned activities.
  • Establish and expand skills in reverse engineering aftermarket products, building a strong foundation in part design and validation processes of the Engineering department.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and basic project management principles.
  • Participate in DVP&R completion tasks as assigned by senior engineering staff.
  • Prepare and complete sample approvals, testing requests; evaluate test results, and publish final test reports.
  • Support engineering quality issue resolution, evaluate returned products for failure mode, and provide actionable feedback.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing facilities to ensure manufacturability of designs, participate in feasibility reviews, and assist in implementing new materials and designs.
