Essel is Seeking a Skilled Construction Project Manager

We are looking for a highly experienced Construction Project Manager to lead our mid to large-scale projects in the education sector, including colleges, universities, and K-12 construction with DSA oversight. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, architecture, or a related field, and experience with CMAR and/or Design/Build delivery methods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure accuracy and prepare General Conditions
  • Establish baseline schedules for subcontractors or self-performing teams
  • Track project costs and manage change orders, RFIs, and owner pay applications
  • Oversee shop drawings and submittals, and manage subcontractor relationships
  • Lead a team and establish a field office in the Bay Area
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in K-12/College/University sectors
  • Experience with DSA oversight and managed projects
  • Professional degree in construction management, architecture, or a related field
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Procore
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and commit to client service
