Environmental Regulatory Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Regulatory Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Regulatory Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that those we regulate comply with the state's environmental laws.

About You:

You will have a strong background in engineering and experience in conducting inspections and evaluations of existing dams. You will also have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with dam owners and their engineers.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed engineering inspections and/or evaluations of existing dams to determine safety.
  • Oversee inspections of dams under construction and/or modification to determine if construction meets the approved plans and engineering practices.
  • Complete routine hydrologic, hydraulic, and structural studies as needed, for proposed and existing dams.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a Texas Professional Engineers license, plus one year of full-time engineering experience beyond licensure. Qualifying work experience includes that obtained post licensure as an engineering graduate student or teacher.

Salary:

$62,945 - $88,918 per year, depending on experience.
