Position Overview

This role involves providing essential care for animals brought to the Pet Health Center, focusing on general veterinary services such as spaying, neutering, dental care, and outpatient surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Registered Veterinary Technicians in delivering nursing care and managing all aspects of patient treatment.
  • Perform routine Veterinary Assistant tasks, including dental procedures, wound care, and administering medications.
  • Train and guide veterinary students and new staff in various procedures and patient care protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly stocked and sanitized.
  • Input laboratory results into the computer system and manage client records efficiently.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures and assist in surgical operations, ensuring a sterile environment is upheld.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Technical knowledge in veterinary care obtained through formal education or relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a clinical setting handling animals and providing patient care.

Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work with medical equipment.
