Position Overview

The Early Childhood Education Specialist collaborates with fellow educators to create a nurturing and secure atmosphere that promotes a child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth as part of our nationally accredited Early Childhood Development Center. The Specialist is tasked with co-facilitating educational activities alongside other professionals, developing and implementing a curriculum that aligns with our center's educational philosophy and accreditation standards, as well as community care regulations for all age groups in the Early Childhood Directions Program.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline.
  • Completion of 24 semester units in Early Childhood Education, including all core courses and an Infant and Toddler Development class, covering:
    • Child Development
    • Principles & Practices in Early Childhood Education
    • Introduction to Curriculum
    • The Child, Family & Community
    • 3 Units of Infant/Toddler Development
    • Supervised Field Experience
  • Valid California Commission on Teaching Credentialing - Teacher Permit.
  • Upon hiring: Clearance from a background check conducted by the appropriate state departments, ensuring no convictions related to child abuse or other serious offenses.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with preschool-aged children.
  • At least 6 months of supervised field experience in an early childhood setting.
  • 6 months of experience working with infants and toddlers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
