Position Overview:
Marathon Petroleum Company LP, a leading player in the petroleum refining and marketing sector, is currently seeking candidates for the role of Terminal Operator at our asphalt terminal in Fernley, Nevada. This role involves working with various petroleum products and overseeing all operational facets of a terminal dedicated to petroleum products. This position is vital in enhancing life’s possibilities by effectively blending, distributing, and delivering high-quality products in a safe, dependable, and competitive manner.
While this position will be assigned to a primary location, flexibility to cover additional sites in the vicinity may be required to meet operational demands. The role may involve a 4- or 5-day workweek or shift work as necessary. Availability for call-outs and overtime may be expected, including after hours and during weekends and holidays. Continuous training will be provided to enhance job-related skills. A successful candidate will demonstrate collaboration, reliability, motivation, and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on truck loading racks and other terminal equipment.
- Perform sampling and laboratory analysis of petroleum products.
- Gauge storage tanks accurately.
- Facilitate the shipment and receipt of petroleum products via pipeline and/or barge/ship.
- Engage in physical tasks such as stair climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, often in outdoor settings.
- Prepare terminal operational reports.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Willingness to acquire basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and maintain accurate documentation.
- Capacity to learn about mechanical and electrical systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or vocational training.
- Experience in process operations, maintenance crafts, and/or the petroleum industry.
