About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Surgical First Assistant to join our team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As a key member of our operating room team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgeon in performing surgical procedures, including positioning, prepping, and draping the patient.
  • Provide hemostasis, wound exposure, and handle sutures and tissue under the direction of the operating surgeon.
  • Work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to aseptic principles to prevent patient infection.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved specific discipline or successful completion of a surgical assistant training program.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Certification from one of the listed issuers (CSFA, CSA, or CSA-).
