Job Title: Radiology Improvement and Standards Coordinator

Join the Detroit Medical Center Shared Services team as a Radiology Improvement and Standards Coordinator, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the system radiology leadership, you will coordinate the business operation of the division, including data analysis and reporting, research, and statistical data collection and dissemination. You will also maintain the RIS order catalog, create and inactivate charge masters, and serve as the designated IT radiology point person for testing and approval of radiology enhancement requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate business operations of the division, including data analysis and reporting, research, and statistical data collection and dissemination.
  • Maintain the RIS order catalog for all departments that utilize RIS.
  • Create and inactivate charge masters for all the imaging management system.
  • Serve as the designated IT radiology point person for testing and approval of radiology enhancement requests.
  • Assist in coordinating system initiatives for process improvements, such as billing compliance, online scheduling, system forms, new patient curriculum, and staff educational tools.
  • Collect, analyze, and report statistical data.
  • Participate in auditing system response to all governing bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, government regulations, JC requirements, and DMC policies.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in a related technical or administrative discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two or more years of progressively responsible technical experience with EMR or Radiology Information Systems.
  • Two or more years of work experience in the medical field preferred.

Skills:

  • Analytical ability to gather and interpret data, identify discrepancies, problems, or issues, and determine methods for ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Communication and/or interpersonal skills for contact with internal and external customers/stakeholders to discuss and interpret technical information and department or function policy.
  • Project management and organizational skills, including the ability to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful yet timely manner.
  • Technical knowledge of diagnostic imaging services.
