Imaging Technologist Role

Your primary responsibility will be to perform accurate and efficient diagnostic exams in all areas of imaging. You'll work closely with our team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care, and that our imaging services are of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality diagnostic exams, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Use hospital computer systems to verify orders, view schedules, and patient worklists, and to send information and images to PACS.
  • Follow guidelines for final verification of patient identification and physician orders.
  • Acquire accurate patient histories and ensure STAT requests are relayed to radiologists in a timely manner.
  • Perform imaging exams and related patient care using age-appropriate methods for patients' physical and/or mental limitations to ensure patient safety.
  • Practice and follow universal precaution standard guidelines set forth by Corewell Health, ensuring equipment is wiped down between patients and exam rooms are clean.
  • Utilize ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
  • Effectively communicate with patients/family, medical staff, and peers.
  • Assist technologists in duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A. Education / Training:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Currently in accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, and/or Ultrasonography program at 2nd year student level.

B. Work Experience:

Training can be gained while at student level.

C. Certification, Licensure, Registration:

Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers Course from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross.
