Job Summary

The Accounting Intern will gain knowledge of financial business models, learn to support business decisions with data-driven reasoning, and understand the accounting complexities of the world's largest biofuel producer. This role will expose you to accounting principles, financial statement structures, and may involve assisting with daily, monthly, and year-end reporting preparation and transactional activities.

You will have the opportunity to identify and monitor internal controls, participate in various projects, and work closely with the Corporate Financial Reporting and Accounting teams and Finance departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial analyses and research variances to reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Perform various transactional duties, such as accounts receivables
  • Conduct audits using internal control policies
  • Assist in cash strategies by analyzing financial data
  • Design and improve financial reports to streamline data collection
  • Complete data validation and build ad hoc reporting using financial reporting software
  • Maintain confidential files and databases
  • Assist with special projects as needed from various team members
Requirements
  • You are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and are within 1-2 years of graduation
  • You value relationships and have a strong customer service focus
  • You are driven, organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
  • You have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with a sense of urgency
  • You communicate effectively in writing and in person
  • You have strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills with the ability to suggest solutions
  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You know the basics of Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel preferred
