Job Overview

Position Summary: The Senior Accounting Specialist will work in close collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer and various departments to deliver outstanding accounting services for The Claussen Group, LLC and its associated entities. This role encompasses a range of accounting and financial activities, including but not limited to accounts payable/receivable, account reconciliations, and general ledger management. The Senior Accounting Specialist will ensure the timely and accurate distribution of financial and management reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute advanced accounting tasks in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Prepare billing statements by summarizing data and analyzing job cost estimates.
  • Review and reconcile invoices with purchase orders, ensuring accurate accounts payable postings.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and collection processes.
  • Verify employee timecards against customer accounts for accurate billing.
  • Support all accounting functions and undertake additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred, along with relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and QuickBooks software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management skills, including organization, time management, and prioritization.
  • Effective and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with management, colleagues, and clients.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a desk, operate a computer, and lift moderate loads.
