The Team Leader plays a crucial role in supporting the Executive Chef and General Manager in fostering a positive atmosphere and ensuring smooth operations during shifts. Responsibilities include overseeing daily setup and procedures, conducting food safety and quality inspections, and leading pre-shift briefings. Team Leaders should be adept at interviewing, hiring, and training new staff, managing nightly reports (including handling significant cash transactions), and proficiently performing all roles as necessary while addressing guest inquiries and concerns.

- Recognizes the importance of leading with positivity and maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Utilizes pre-shift meetings to communicate menu updates and motivate the team.
- Establishes clear and constructive communication with all team members.
Store Operations:
- Ensures a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment.
- Implements effective opening and closing procedures, including setup, breakdown, and preparation of catering orders.
- Assists the General Manager in upholding customer service standards and ensuring compliance with meal and break policies.
- Adheres to cash handling protocols and is accountable for financial transactions during shifts.
- Delegates tasks to staff throughout shifts.
- Sets a positive example for all team members by following and enforcing company policies.
- Effectively introduces new menu items and educates staff on updates.
- Promotes and enforces safe working practices, maintaining safety standards and reporting any incidents.
- Identifies and reports potential safety hazards and operational discrepancies.
Product Quality:
- Tastes products during shifts to ensure quality control.
- Follows and enforces all company recipes, procedures, and processes.
- Ensures all team members are knowledgeable about the latest menu and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, evenings, and special events as needed.
- Must be well-organized, capable of multitasking, and detail-oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Knowledge of industry standards and relevant health and safety regulations; current food handler certification is preferred.
- Demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently bend from the waist.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- This position requires frequent use of hands and arms in repetitive motions.
- Must be able to adjust vision for both day and night lighting and focus on both distant and close ranges.
- Regularly required to handle hot food and beverages.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
