Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Hoyle Tanner and Associates, Inc. in our Northeast Municipal Engineering Services Group (NEME).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide junior and staff engineers and CAD teammates.
  • Responsible for design coordination with Project Manager, project team, subconsultants, local and state agencies, for preparation of calculations, layouts, estimates and design plans under Project Managers.
  • Hold the lead role in an integrated, wastewater team that solves technical project challenges of all types.
  • Work with Project Managers on the project budget, scope of services, project schedule and project development.
  • Be a primary contributor or writer for the development of technical and price proposals.
  • Monitor and review spent hours and dollars versus percent complete in relation to project timelines and budget and provide recommendations to the Project Manager to stay on track.
  • Understand the client's organization and develop professional relationships with client peers.
  • Lead the design for wastewater conveyance and treatment projects with tasks including hydraulic calculations for pumping, process calculations, integration with other treatment components, and collaboration with other trades supporting comprehensive treatment process designs.
  • Manage engineering staff and prioritize technical tasks to meet deliverable deadlines as well as changes in schedule or resource availability.
  • Be proficient in technical writing, editing, and presentations.
  • Identify areas of improvement and regularly share best practices and/or improve processes.
  • Develop person-hour estimates and budgets.
  • Act as a technical lead and demonstrate a specialized skill in wastewater engineering and its application on relevant projects.
  • Potentially be the primary team member responsible for overall quality control of the project.
Requirements
  • BSCE Degree required
  • 10+ Years of relevant experience.
  • Current PE in either NH, MA, ME, or VT with ability to obtain reciprocal licenses.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, an acute understanding of project finances, scheduling, and client management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a focus on wastewater process engineering
  • Additional PE License(s) or NCEES record
