Licensed Practical Nurse

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at King's Daughters Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care under the direct supervision of Physicians and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners (APRNs). Your primary responsibility will be to manage patient movement throughout the medical practice, ensuring timely rooming, turnover, and patient flow to support physician and APRN efficiency.
Duties and Essential Functions- Preparation of Patients for Physician and/or APRN Visits
- Obtain patient vitals, chief complaint, past medical history, medication history, and updates
- Ensure best practice alerts are addressed prior to physician and/or APRN visit
- Basic Patient Care
- Provide basic patient care as ordered based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations
- Documentation and Communication
- Document assessment and effectiveness and timeliness of care/intervention
- Communicate with patients and other care team members
- Medication Administration and Management
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response
- Utilize organization-wide safe medication practices
- Registration and Customer Service
- Manage nursing in-basket responsibilities in a timely fashion
- Perform registration duties as needed, including call backs, referrals, and customer check-in/out
- Education and Patient Engagement
- Provide teaching and educational material to patients and/or significant others as needed
- Minimum Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Practical Nursing
- Active LPN License
- Maintain active LPN license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and/or Ohio
- Certifications
- Achieve and maintain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Achieve and maintain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification
As an LPN at King's Daughters Medical Center, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with constant exposure to blood and/or body fluids and infection. You will be required to work near moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation.
