About the Role

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fire Protection Systems Designer to join the Fire Protection team in Austin, TX. The Fire Protection team is responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge fire protection systems for the Gigafactory Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Fire Protection Team to develop designs, hydraulic calculations, stocklisting, and installation drawings for fire suppression and life safety systems.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Design and develop 3D construction drawings and models for fire suppression and life safety systems using Revit, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and Navisworks.
  • Lead in-field design validation and preparation of as-built drawings.
  • Maintain project drawing files, associated records, and documentation.
  • Develop Revit families, standard details, and manage BIM files.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in fire sprinkler design.
  • NICET certification for water-based fire protection systems layout.
  • Proficiency in 3D software, such as Auto CAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience with HydraCad, HydraCalc, or other sprinkler design programs.
