Job Title: Fire Alarm Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Designer to join our team at Allied Fire Protection. As a Fire Alarm Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fire alarm systems that meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site surveys to assess fire alarm system requirements
  • Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for fire alarm systems using AutoCAD
  • Calculate and design fire alarm systems from start to finish
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and contractors to ensure seamless project execution
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure consistent production and document control
  • Provide technical assistance to superintendents and field personnel on system and code applications
  • Collaborate with the sales department to review system configurations, specifications, and code applications for estimating projects
  • Maintain accurate project drawing files and records
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Construction experience a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in fire alarm system design and AutoCAD
  • APS State of TX preferred
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings
  • Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel as needed
Physical Requirements:
  • 75% Office Setting, including sitting, some bending, some lifting, walking, and viewing
  • 25% driving
